School initiatives: Meet an innovator
The current digital age, is marked by rapidly changing ideas, fast-paced technological advancements and new markets. Innovation and entrepreneurship are the foundation for these driving-forces, fostering innovators who have revolutionary ideas and create dramatic change.
Creativity is not exclusive to the individual. It requires divergent ideas to flourish and clashing and opposing perspectives to fuel further inspiration. Innovators are open to new ideas and new ways of accomplishing things. They are problem-solvers, complex thinkers and analytical decision-maker capable of thinking outside the box and finding creative solutions to the world’s pressing problems. Innovators partner with like-minded individuals and community leaders in a collaborative pursuit of learning, information sharing, inspiration and positive social change.
Entrepreneurs, technocrats, academics and professionals are assets. They drive change, challenge existing ideals and revolutionize life. They establish new businesses and create new jobs and high-tech, high-quality goods and services that are needed for markets to prosper and economies to flourish. They also serve as positive role models; their continued aspirations and far-reaching ambitions inspire youth to be more and do more.
The world is brimming with opportunities and the promise of success; however, dreams alone are not enough. Certain qualities need to be nurtured from a young age, like flexibility, adaptability and openness to the necessity of change. The innovators of tomorrow will understand that what was new yesterday will be obsolete tomorrow.
To remain on top of the changing digital landscape, students must learn how to embrace new technology and novel ideas. At the International School of Creative Science – Muwaileh, we stand amongst the best British schools in Sharjah because we support innovation. Our “Meet the Innovator” is a new initiative from Mrs. Abir Obeid, our Innovation Lead. Our programme welcomes incredible people from the community into the school to promote the spirit of entrepreneurship and innovation amongst our students.
Our first session will feature our very own Grade 12 students and Think Science Ambassadors, Fatima Nasser and Khawla Abdullah. Subsequent sessions will include entrepreneurs, technocrats and young professionals from Sheraa, the local Sharjah Entrepreneurship Centre.
Speakers will share their thoughts, experiences and insights about their journey, inventions and businesses. The aim is to nurture our students to become dynamic individuals, change-makers and the next-generation of 21st century thinkers capable of vibrant ideas, creative solutions, innovation, resilience, and energy.
