Career guidance: Helping your child to a brighter future
As a leading British Curriculum school in Dubai, the International School of Creative Science - Nad Al Sheba believes in nurturing and educating our students to become successful working professionals. To achieve this goal, we provide career counseling services to educate our student body about job markets, career options and skills.
We believe that career counseling is vital for our students and should begin at an early age. We provide counseling at multiple stages in the student’s academic career. We work to give career advice, hone creative skills, manage portfolios, and streamline academics to form the foundation of a well-suited, successful career. We use counseling to help students pick a career path as well as course combinations and extra-curricular activities in order for them to develop competitive résumés well before graduation.
We always have the student’s best interests at heart; therefore, guidance counselors give standardised aptitude and personality tests that assess the student’s skills and interests. This evaluation is crucial in determining the child’s aptitude. Our counselors then work to find the right combinations of educational and career options for the child, based on current and future job market prospects. We also insist on increasing exposure to job and education prospects in the UAE as well as internationally so that children may be able to compete in an increasingly globalised economy.
As one of the best British curriculum schools in Dubai, we monitor the rising challenges in the job market in order to make sure our students remain a step ahead. We educate and advise based on economic trends and encourage specialised skills in areas such as IT, construction, and finance, which are experiencing growth worldwide. We also encourage multiple soft skills and innovative learning strategies for students to be able to manage well in an economy where freelancers are on the rise.
And because potential employers now require multi-skilled employees, we expose students to multiple learning methods, using diverse course combinations and co-curricular formats. Our counselors also help advise students on which examinations and coursework to take and work to help students decide what career paths they would be best suited, based on their skills.
